After this course you are able to: - Show scientific knowledge of some of the world’s major environmental challenges - Understand the difficulties in addressing these challenges, particularly economic and political factors - Understand the role that different nations, organizations and people play in addressing these challenges
Course contents / programme
This course will explore several current issues in environmental science. These may include air and water pollution, depletion of soil, overpopulation, and global climate change. The topics selected will pertain to both developing and developed countries, and each topic will be explored from several angles, including scientific, economic, social and cultural perspectives. There will be a short lecture on each topic, followed by group discussion, analysis and debate.
